Teen charged with setting house on fire

SEVERN, Md. - An 18-year-old is catching heat after arson investigators say he was behind setting fire to a home under construction Friday morning in Severn.

A manager at the construction site told Anne Arundel County firefighters that workers saw a man in two separate homes on the 8100 block of Cornfield Lane.

The manager explained that the man later ran off into the woods after being approached.

An investigation revealed that one home was marked with graffiti and another damaged by fire.

Police were able to catch up to Torian Mack in the neighborhood, and the construction site manager was able to confirm his identity on the scene.

The two homes damaged on Ridgely Loop Circle suffered a combined estimated damage of $2000.00.

Mack faces several charges, including second degree arson and malicious burning.
