Teen charged with armed robbery in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - A 15-year-old boy was arrested Sunday in Annapolis after another teen wrestled a gun away from him during an armed robbery before contacting police.

Annapolis police said around 6:15 p.m. Sunday a 14-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl were walking on the unit block of Pleasant St. when the suspect approached them.

The suspect placed what the girl believed to be a BB gun against her head and demanded her cell phone. Police said the suspect  took her cell phone charge cord. After that,  the 14-year-old boy wrestled the gun from the suspect, who then fled the scene.

Police said the male victim turned over the gun to police. The suspect was located and charged with armed robbery, robbery, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and theft. 

The cell phone charge cord was found in his pocket, police said. The suspect was transported to Cheltenham Youth Facility.
