Suspects of double shooting arrested after barricade in Edgewater

A man who barricaded himself inside a home in Edgewater is now under arrest. Now, two others have been arrested in connection to the shooting he was involved in. 

Police were called to the 1100 block of Madison Street Wednesday night after reports of hearing shots fired.

Officer found two shooting victims, a 41-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man at the 1100 block of Medgar Evers Street in Annapolis. 

Both were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The woman's injuries are non life-threatening, but the man's injuries are more severe. 

Police found also Craig Belt and Delvonta Wright in an apartment that they did not have permission to be in on Madison Street. They were arrested in connection with this shooting. 

According to police, one of the shooting suspects, Barnabas Offer Jr, then barricaded himself inside of a home at Route 214 at Oak Lane in Edgewater, just before 11:00 Wednesday night. 

The barricade lasted for hours, and family said Offer was on drugs. He was arrested early Thursday morning. 

Rt. 214 at Oak Lane was closed for hours during the barricade. 

Police do not have a motive for the shooting at this moment.
