Stray bullet narrowly misses sleeping Glen Burnie child

A man was shot at in Glen Burnie Friday night and a stray bullet narrowly missed a sleeping child.

Shortly before 10 p.m. a 27-year-old man visiting family was walking in the 7900 block of Gentle Breeze Court when another man walked up to him, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

The second man was armed with a handgun and when the first man started to run away from him toward Secluded Post Circle, the armed man chased him, firing several shots in his direction, police said.

One of the bullets went across the street and through the front window of a home in the 400 block of Secluded Post Circle, lodging into the wall about 4 feet above a person sleeping inside the home, police said.

Witnesses told police they heard at least three or four gun shots then saw a two-toned black and gray Chevrolet Avalanche with chrome wheels drive away with two men inside it.

Witnesses also described seeing a man in his mid-twenties, about 6 feet tall, with a thin build and medium length dreadlocks, a dark shirt, blue jeans and a blue bandanna on his head walking on Gentle Breeze Court minutes before the shooting, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Det. Lemaster at 410-222-6145.
