Road rage police impersonator arrested

HANOVER, Md. - Anne Arundel County police arrested a man who impersonated an officer during a road rage incident.

According to authorities, around 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 19 a man in a Chevy Impala tried to pull over an off-duty Prince George’s County police officer as she drove in her personal car on Dorsey Road in Hanover. The man pulled up next to her and flashed a silver badge while yelling at her through the window.

When the woman did not pull over, the so-called officer pulled in front of her and slammed on his brakes. He continued his “road rage” behavior by changing lanes so she could not pass. Finally the victim pulled into a parking lot where she called police. The suspect continued driving on Dorsey Road.

Police determined the suspect was a private investigator not a police officer. He was identified in a photo lineup as 20-year-old Jack Chandler of Severn.

Chandler turned himself in to police after a warrant was issued for his arrest for impersonating a police officer.
