Police: Woman charged in shoplifting incident, fellow suspect drowns

A Baltimore woman is charged with theft and another man is dead after they allegedly stole from a store at Arundel Mills Mall.

Tania Denice Turner, 26, of the 1300 block of W. Mosher Street in Baltimore is charged with theft less than $1,000 in connection with the shoplifting incident.

Shortly before 9 p.m. Turner and two men were spotted allegedly stealing hats and shirts from Zumiez in the mall, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Mall security officers ran after one of the men and saw him dive into sediment pond at the corner of the Arundel Mills Mall parking lot, police said.

He never resurfaced and investigators believe he accidentally drowned. His body was recovered from the water around 11:15 p.m.

A second man was questioned by police then released without charges.
