Police looking for clues in Annapolis double shooting

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Annapolis Police are still trying to figure out who shot a 33-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, killing the man.

These festive Christmas ornaments are a sharp contrast to the scene here on Tyler Avenue last night.

Two people were shot, including Joseph Johnson III, who was killed.

The 31-year-old woman who was shot was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma and is still in critical condition.

"Kind of crazy.  All this shooting and killing."

Stanley Dorsey has been around these parts for more than 30 years.

"They're not troubled people.  It's just unfortunate."

The double shooting in Robinwood is not the first time there have been problems in the community.

"We've had other calls for service out there.  Had a stabbing."

Violent crime affected people on this block earlier this year.

29-year-old Orlando McDaniel, who lived on the block, was murdered in Annapolis in June.

Police haven't solved that case either.

"This shooting happened inside."

"That's kind of unusual, most shootings occur outside."

Alderman Kenny Kirby grew up on these streets in Annapolis.

"It's unfortunate that life has been cheapened by the young folk.  Period."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Charles Bealefeld at 410-268-9000 ext: 7299.
