Troopers were dispatched early in the morning on July 26 to Route 50 at the Severn River Bridge. They received a call about a car traveling in the wrong direction—eastbound in the westbound lanes—of Route 50.

A trooper found the crash scene with three cars involved at westbound Route 50 and Bay Dale Drive.

The driver of one of the cars involved in the crash died, as well as Parks. Two people in the third car were injured.
