A Pasadena man was found guilty of child sex abuse, officials said.

Richard Irizarry Minton, began abusing his victim when she was in 8th grade and continued the abuse for three years. The molestation got progressively worse as the girl got older. Court records show Minton was in a position of trust over his victim and used it to “groom” her over time to be sexually molested.

Anne Arundel County State's Attorney Wes Adams said "this case is particularly egregious given the fact that Mr. Minton intentionally used his position of trust to abuse this child over many years.  My office will continue to seek justice for our most vulnerable citizens who fall prey to the predators who abuse their positions of trust to commit these heinous acts.”

Minton faces up to 25 years for his convictions.  A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.
