Millersville man critical after shooting in Glen Burnie

GLEN BURNIE, Md. - A 21-year-old Millersville man is in critical but stable condition at Shock Trauma after being shot early Tuesday morning, Anne Arundel County police said.

Police said at approximately 1:04 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Secret Bend in Glen Burnie for a reported shooting. The victim told police he was shot while he was a passenger in a vehicle at the Sunoco Gas Station, located in the 300 block of Hospital Drive.

According to police accounts, the vehicle was exiting the lot when a second vehicle pulled alongside. At that time, a suspect got out of the driver's side and shot twice through the driver's side of the vehicle the victim was in, striking the victim once in the abdomen. The suspect then entered back into his vehicle and fled the scene.

Police said the suspect is described as a black male, 6 feet tall with a heavy build, wearing a black T-shirt and a red baseball hat. The suspect's vehicle is described as a black or full-size pickup with tinted windows and was possibly a four-wheel drive vehicle.

Police said this does not appear to be a random act of violence and based on interviews with a witness, detectives believe the incident may be drug-related. Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 410-222-6145.
