LAUREL, Md. - A man wanted for a deadly hit and run in Laurel Friday night turned himself in, police say.
Laurel Police say Antione Kaliph Cauley turned himself in Sunday after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
According to authorities, police were called to the 7600 block of South Arbory Lane in Laurel around 7:45 Friday night for a vehicular homicide. When officers arrived they found a man, later identified as 24-year-old Matthew Cavin, under a car in the parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation found the victim and the suspect had been fighting inside a home on Arbory Lane which spilled into the parking lot. Witnesses told police they saw Cauley hit the victim with the front of his SUV and then flee the scene.
Cauley is facing first degree murder charges.
He is being questioned by Laurel police before transport to the Hyattsville Court Commissioner for a bond hearing.
