Police were forced to tase a man who was holding his wife and assaulting her on the kitchen floor Monday afternoon.
When officers arrived at the home in the 900 block of Ridgeway Drive in Cape Saint Claire, Michael Lynn Travers refused to comply with officers. He then attacked the officer, who after calling for assistance was forced to use a Taser to subdue the suspect.
The officer was not injured. The victim, Travers' wife, was transported to a local hospital for numerous injuries sustained.
Travers was arrested and charged with first and second degree assault, false imprisonment and reckless endangerment on his wife. He was also charged with resisting arrest and assaulting the officer.
