Man steals motorcycle, crashes and is arrested

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - An Annapolis man is behind bars after a stolen motorcycle was crashed Sunday evening.

Annapolis Police say they arrested Ellis Smith after the crash in the 500 block of South Cherry Grove Avenue. 

According to police, witnesses saw Smith trying to get into a car near where the owner parked the motorcycle, then watched him climb on the motorcycle and drive to where it was found after the crash.

Police found Smith on Greenbriar Lane after searching the area.

He has been charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, two counts of rogue and vagabond, malicious destruction of property and other related charges.
