GLEN BURNIE, Md. - One man is facing charges after allegedly trying to kidnap a 12-year-old girl while she was walking home from school in Glen Burnie Thursday afternoon.
Around 4:14 p.m. Thursday a 12-year-old girl told Anne Arundel County Police she was walking home from Woodside Elementary School when a man in a silver truck, later identified as Tristien Owen Willey, stopped a silver truck three times to ask if she needed a ride, police said.
Willey drove away then allegedly came back, parked along the curb, got out of his truck and walked quickly toward the girl with his arms outstretched, police said.
The girl was afraid he was going to grab her and put her in the truck so she rain home and told her mother.
Right after it happened, the girl and her mom drove around looking for the truck, which they spotted in the area of Crain Highway and Hospital Drive, then followed the man to his home in the 1000 block of Cayer Drive in Glen Burnie.
Officers and a detective went to the home and interviewed everyone there.
Willey, 24, is charged with second-degree assault and kidnapping a child under age 16.
