Man arrested following chase with NSA officers, Maryland State Police

Man arrested following chase at NSA, MSP - A man was arrested Wednesday following a pursuit with Maryland State Police and National Security Agency officers.

Darnell David Hawkins Jr., 32, was arrested Wednesday after the pursuit, state police said.

Around 6 a.m. officers stopped Hawkins near a checkpoint off of Route 32, police said.

During the stop, Hawkins attempted to get away from officers by bypassing a barricade and driving onto NSA property, injuring one officer, police said.

After successfully fleeing from NSA property, Hawkins initiated a chase traveling northbound on I 295 South with state police and NSA police officers before being stopped near Route 32, officials said.
