Glen Burnie man charged with assaulting girlfriend with shotgun, knife

GLEN BURNIE, Md. - Anne Arundel police arrested and charged a Glen Burnie man who cut his girlfriend with a knife and also produced a shotgun during an altercation Wednesday.

Thomas Maurice Sellman, 21, of Glen Burnie, was charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and weapons charges.

Around 10 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of Old Stage Road for a report of a person armed with a gun.

Police spoke to victims and learned that Sellman, who left the residence prior to their arrival, got into an altercation with his girlfriend. Sellman produced both a shotgun and a knife during the incident. According to police, the shotgun was also pointed at other individuals in the residence.

Sellman cut his girlfriend’s hand with the knife and was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, police said. The other victims within the residence were not injured.

With the help of a police K-9, officers found Sellman hiding in an apartment building stairwell in the area and took him into custody.
