The girlfriend of a man who shot an Anne Arundel County police officer was sentenced to eight years with all suspended and five years of probation. Danielle Blake, 30, was sentenced Monday for serving as an accessory after the fact and transporting a handgun in a vehicle for the shooting of Corporal Larry Adams in April 2015.
"Ms. Blake's sentence signals a closure for these tragic events," said Wes Adams, Anne Arundel County State's Attorney. "While this doesn't reverse the fact that an officer who was protecting and serving the citizens of Anne Arundel County was shot and severely injured, this does give a measure of justice to the officer and our community."
Officer Adams forgave Blake in court for what happened that night. He told the judge that he didn't want her to suffer major consequences because of her association with Colvin White.

At around 2 a.m. on April 10, 2015, Officer Adams approached a van on the side of the road. Blake was in the car by herself and told him that it had run out of gas and the driver was getting more at the 7/11 nearby.
Officer Adams went to the 7/11 with the intention of giving the driver $5 for gas. White was in a hoodie and lurking around the side of the store, and when Adams approached him and asked for identification, White ran. The officer chased after him, and White ambushed him and shot him in the neck.
White then ran to the car where Blake was, and the two sped away.
Officer Adams is still recovering from the gunshot wound.
