ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The threat of robbery is usually no laughing matter.
But when a man entered the Bubbles Hair Salon in the 2500 block of Solomons Island Road in Annapolis Wednesday and announced his intentions to rob the business, the receptionist laughed.
The man, later identified as Ryan Michael Trembly, 29, of Curtis Bay, walked into the salon around 5 p.m. with his hand and arm under his shirt, though he never showed a weapon or said he had one, Anne Arundel County police said.
He repeated his demands, but the receptionist didn’t think he was serious. Trembly then made small talk before leaving the salon.
Later, the receptionist flagged down an officer and reported the incident. She said Trembly left and went to another business before being picked up by a white Nissan. The receptionist was able to give police a partial tag number.
Police tracked down Trembly at his mother's house. He was arrested and charged with one count of attempted robbery and one count of theft that's less than $1,000.
