Counterfeit cash leads to assault, robbery

GLEN BURNIE - A man is behind bars after he beat and robbed a motel clerk who wouldn’t give back his counterfeit money.

Around 5 a.m. Saturday police were called to the Days Inn in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway South in Glen Burnie for a holdup. When officers arrived, the clerk told police he had refused to return fake money a guest tried use to pay for a room. When the clerk wouldn’t give back the fake cash, the guest jumped over the counter and assaulted the clerk—stealing his cell phone and cash from the register.

Police found the suspect, identified as Anton Bulow of Severn,  back in his hotel room along with the stolen cash and cell phone. Bulow was arrested and charged with robbery, theft and second degree assault.
