ANNAPOLIS - A citizen on social media who saw photos of a WaWa store robbery suspect in Annapolis led to the man's arrest.
Anne Arundel County Police say that on December 22, 2013, the WaWa located at 628 Admiral Drive in Annapolis was robbed when a man entered the store armed with a gun and demanded money.
Police released surveillance photos to the media and social outlets of the suspect and the car used in the robbery.
Police say a person who saw the photos on social media called detectives and gave them a tip as to the identification of the robbery suspect.
Police used information from the civilian and found Thomas Jeffrey Kirsch, 52, of 1068 Springhill Court in Gambrills at his home.
After members of the Robbery Unit and the Special Operations Section's Quick Response Team executed a search warrant on Kirsch's property, detectives located a vehicle that matched surveillance pictures, recovered objects related to the robbery, and took the suspect into custody.
Police charged Kirsch with armed robbery, robbery, first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, and theft under $100.
