HANOVER, Md. - A 32-year-old Bowie man has been arrested and charged in connection for a robbery and an attempted robbery Sunday morning at Maryland Live! Casino in Hanover.
Paul Johann Morin, of the 6500 block of Homestake Drive South, has been charged by Anne Arundel County Police with armed robbery, robbery, second degree assault and related charges.
Police said Morin allegedly attempted to rob a 71-year-old woman at knifepoint around 7:44 a.m. as she was about to enter an elevator at the casino. The suspect, police said, attempted to take her purse, but was unsuccessful.
Not long after that incident, a 35-year-old female told police she was seated inside her vehicle in the parking garage of the casino when she was approached by the suspect, who pointed a knife at her and demanded money after opening her car door. The victim turned over an unknown amount of money to the suspect, who then fled the area.
Neither victim was hurt in the incidents. Morin has been committed at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.
