Anne Arundel police investigating two robberies

MILLERSVILLE, Md. - Anne Arundel County police are investigating two robberies that happened over the weekend at businesses in Brooklyn Park and Glen Burnie.

Police said two men with masks and guns entered the Checkers in the 100 block of Mountain Road around 7:50 p.m. Saturday. One man jumped over the counter and demanded money from the register, while the other reached over the counter and removed an unknown amount of money from the register. Both men then ran off.

A witness inside Checkers then ran after the men and caught up to one of them and grabbed him by the arm. The man struck him in the face and continued to run.

Patrol units, K-9 and aviation units searched the area but couldn’t find the men. Police are looking for two black men, one in his late teens and one in his 20s. The man in his teens is between 5’5 and 5’8, 180 to 200 pounds and wearing a black sweatshirt, black jeans, black shoes with white trim, black gloves and a black mask.

The second man is about 5’5, between 190 and 210 pounds and is wearing a brown jacket, black jeans, black shoes, black gloves and a black mask.

In the second incident, a man robbed the Village Liquors in the 700 block of Church Street around 3:20 p.m. Sunday.

An employee told police the man entered the store and demanded money. He said he was armed, but did not show a weapon, police said.

The man ran north on Church Street after taking an unknown amount of money. He was last seen getting into a gold-colored minivan near Disney Avenue and driving off toward Baltimore city.

K-9 units and responding officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate him.

Police are looking for a black man, about 6’1 with a medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with gray inside, a mask and gloves. Anyone with information is asked to call the Northern District Detective Unit at 410-222-6135.
