Anne Arundel police investigate robberies in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Anne Arundel County police dealt with two separate robberies overnight.

Police said two men were arrested in connection with the robbery of an Annapolis CVS Pharmacy early Monday morning.

At approximately 12:31 a.m., officers responded to the CVS, located at 2601 Riva Rd. in response to a robbery. Police said a man wearing a camouflage hooded sweatshirt and black bandana entered the store, approached the pharmacist on duty and displayed a note announcing the robbery and implying that he had a gun.

Police said the man took an unknown amount of prescription medication. Not long after, officers received information on the suspect's whereabouts.That information included that he and another person were in a vehicle. Officers spotted the a vehicle matching the description provided and executed a traffic stop. Two suspects were taken into custody and evidence from the robbery was recovered from the vehicle.

Brandon Neff, 21, of Gambrills is suspected of being the man who robbed the CVS, while Nicholas Jacob Swerbilow, 20, of Annapolis, is suspected of driving the getaway vehicle.

Both men were charged with robbery.

Prior to that robbery, at approximately 11:28 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the WaWa, located at 628 Admiral Drive in Annapolis for a reported armed robbery.

Police said an unknown man entered the store, displayed a small knife and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect concealed the cash, left through the front door, and ran out the side of the building.

Police said the man entered a red four-door midsized vehicle and drove off on Admiral Drive toward Jennifer Road.

The man in question is described as white, in his mid-50's, wearing a  cream colored jacket and blue jeans.
