Anne Arundel County police are looking for two men believed to have used skimming devices at a gas station in Odenton.

A card skimming device was located on a gas pump at an Exxon gas station on Annapolis Road on June 27.

Duplicated card information was used at a 7-Eleven on Odenton Road on that same day.

"There are several types of skimming devices and they go from very, very primitive to very technologically sound,” Lt. Ryan Frashure, with the police department, said.

The device recovered at the gas station was one with Bluetooth technology.

A level of sophistication that’s nearly impossible to spot, police say, in plain sight.

Detectives obtained surveillance footage from the nearby businesses around that time and have narrowed the possible suspects down to two men seen at both locations.

"It's very hard to track these individuals. That's why we like to capitalize on -- we have these really good photos of these people. So we're hoping to get them out to the public -- if they are local people,” Frashure said.

Police are crossing their fingers the two men in the surveillance footage are local.

"Try to avoid standalone ATMs. They seem to get targeted quite a bit for people to put skimming devices on those,” Frashure said. "Make sure that you're always aware of your banking statements, your financial statements. Check those often and if you see anything that looks out of the ordinary, give us a call immediately. Call your financial institution immediately and have them cancel the card."
