AACO police officers identified in Glen Burnie barricade shootout

The Anne Arundel County Police Department released the names of four police officers involved in a barricade shootout Tuesday in Glen Burnie.

Officers responded to a 8:47 p.m. call of an armed man at a home on Phirne Road. When crews arrived, police officers confronted Bradley James McMillian, 20, who reportedly shot at police before barricading himself in the home.

McMillian eventually surrendered to police and was taken into custody. McMillian is in the hospital with a non-life threatening injury. 

Police said a neighbor, 67-year-old woman, was hurt in the shooting and remains in the hospital with a non-life threatening injury to her head/neck area.

The officers involved in the incident have been placed on routine administrative leave. They are identified as the following:

  • Sgt. Breeden, 27 years of service with the Anne Arundel County Police Department
  • Sgt. Coking, 24 years of service with the Anne Arundel County Police Department
  • Ofc. Beavers, 3 years of service with the Anne Arundel County Police Department
  • Ofc. Moore, 2 years of service with the Anne Arundel County Police Department

The Anne Arundel County Police department is examining recovered evidence as well as interviewing several individuals related to this case. 

The department’s Professional Standards Unit as well as the State’s Attorney’s Office will also complete a standard review the case.
