Five Anne Arundel County teens have been arrested for theft, assault and attempted auto theft.

At approximately 11:50 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a dispute between a taxi driver and several juveniles. When the officers arrived on Mulberry Ridge Court in Pasadena, the taxi driver said five teens started an argument with him and one took his cell phone as a distraction as another tried to steal his taxi.

The taxi driver was able to regain control of his vehicle after a struggle with the car-jacker. All five suspects fled on foot with the taxi driver’s phone.

Anne Arundel County and Maryland State Police were able to find all of the suspects and they were all charged on juvenile citations. The suspects, four males and one female, were then released back to their parents.
