2 arrested after getaway car catches fire in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Police arrested two teens suspected in a robbery after the car they were fleeing in caught fire.

Annapolis Police say someone on Graff Court saw one of the teens holding a 15-year-old on the ground and punching him in the face and called police.  Before police arrived the suspect, another boy and the victim all left the area.

While speaking to the witness, police noticed a 16-year-old they know didn't have a license driving by in a car and tried to stop him. The teen refused to stop, hitting a minivan in the process.  The car finally stopped after something started to burn in the engine compartment.

After stopping the car, the 16-year-old and two passengers got out of the car and ran.  Officers caught the 16-year-old and an 18-year-old, but the third suspect got away.  The 16-year-old was cited with traffic offenses, the 18-year-old was charged with drug possession.  Police believe the third person in the car, who got away, is a suspect in the robbery of the 15-year-old.
