A woman was found dead inside her Essex home Monday and police are investigating her death as a homicide.
Shelly Lynn Fillion, 47, was found inside her home in the unit block of Skipjack Court.
Baltimore County say because Fillion's family hadn't heard from her since Saturday, a family member went to check on her Monday afternoon.
The family member found Fillion's body and called police. Officers were dispatched to the home around 5 p.m. They found her body partially under a pull-out sofa in the living room.

She had suffered traumatic injuries and police are treating her death as a homicide. Detectives do not believe this was a random act.
Fillion's body has been taken to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
