ORIGINAL: A Silver Alert has been issued for a 79-year-old Carroll County man who went missing over the weekend.

George Laneville Martin was last seen around 9:48 p.m. Sunday at the Walmart  in Eldersburg. Martin told a Walmart employee he was having trouble with his 2005, dark blue Chevrolet Silverado, then called his wife to ask her to come get him.

Martin told the employee he was going to wait in his truck for his wife. He hasn't been seen since.

Martin, a Sykesville resident, is described as 5-foot, 4-inches tall and 150 pounds with blue eyes and white hair. He was last seen wearing a gray, button-down sweater, blue jeans and brown "docksider" shoes.

Deputies with the Carroll County sheriff's office searched the area, but didn't find Martin or the vehicle.
