Severe thunderstorm warning issued for much of Md.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Charles, Frederick, Howard, Harford, Montgomery, Prince George’s and Washington counties, as well as Baltimore City. 

The warning was extended until 8:30 p.m. Officials advise anyone living within the storm line to seek shelter. 

The National Weather Service tracked storms capable of producing hail the size of quarters and destructive wind of about 70 m.p.h.

This is a dangerous line of storms. If you are in its path...move indoors to a sturdy building and stay away from windows. When it is safe to do so report severe weather to local law enforcement or to the National Weather Service. This line of storms has a history of producing widespread wind damage. Seek shelter inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.
