TOWSON, Md. - Baltimore County Police arrested Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith on Saturday night.
According to a police report, the manager of the Green Turtle in Towson flagged officers down around 9 pm and told them a woman was passed out in the bathroom. The manager had the woman's purse and said he believed she was overdosing on drugs. Police found cocaine in the purse.
When the officers got inside, they found Jimmy Smith in the bathroom with Jennifer Koontz. Smith was holding her up at the sink, so she wouldn't fall.
Police tried to speak with Koontz, but all she said was "I don't want to be a whore."
Smith told police he was doing a photo shoot with Koontz earlier that night and since he wasn't related to the woman, police told him to leave. Smith refused saying he was helping Koontz, but the police report said he was standing in the doorway in the way of the medics who were trying to get to her.
After three times the officer had to remove Smith from the bathroom, and he turned to the officer and said "F*** you, what the f*** are you going to do?" The officer then arrested Smith for failure to obey the lawful order of a police officer. It was then that Smith identified himself as a Ravens player and told the officer "the only reason you arrested me is so you can get on the news."
Smith is the fifth Ravens player to be arrested this offseason. In May rookie running back Lorenzo Taliaferro was arrested for breaking a taxi cab window. In March offensive lineman Jah Reid was arrested for battery. And in February wide reciever Deonte Thompson was arrested for marijuana possession.
The highest profile arrest for the Ravens this offseason so far has been Ray Rice's. He was indicted by a grand jury in March after he allegedly assaulted his fiancée, who he has since married .
