BALTIMORE - A pedestrian was hit and a police officer injured after one car crashed into them in northwest Baltimore Wednesday evening.
Around 10:40 p.m., a 45-year-old man was hit by a car at the intersection of W. Lafayette Avenue and N. Bentalou Street, according to Baltimore Police.
Shortly after hitting the person, the car hit an unmarked police car in the 1300 block of N. Bentalou Street, police said.
The driver then headed southbound on N. Bentalou Street, hitting two parked cars and a utility pole not far from where the initial accident happened, according to police.
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition Wednesday night.
The driver was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The police officer involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.
Baltimore Police say the driver will be charged after he is released from the hospital.
