BROOKLYN PARK, Md. - A 22-year-old man was burned following a house fire Monday morning in Brooklyn Park.
Anne Arundel County fire officials said the man was transported to the John Hopkins Burn Center following the single-alarm blaze, which was reported around 6:30 a.m. in the unit block of Ballman Court.
An engine company clearing a medical call reported to the fire, which was in the middle of a group of row homes. A basement fire was discovered and brought under control by 28 firefighters in approximately 25 minutes.
While units were on location of the fire, Anne Arundel fire communications received a call that a burn patient from the fire had evacuated the house and relocated to the Sav-A-Lot, located in the 5000 block of Ritchie Highway North.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
