Man on trial for liquor store robbery skips out before verdict

A man on trial for robbing a liquor store didn’t stick around to see if the jury thought he was guilty or not.

Michael Anderson left the Upper Marlboro courthouse Tuesday as the jury was in the process of deciding his case. He never came back.

Anderson, age 40, was accused of robbing Laurel Park Liquor Store in Laurel on June 15, 2012, according to the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office. The jury found Anderson guilty of armed robbery, even though he wasn’t there to hear the verdict.

Anderson will be sentenced after police take him into custody.

Those with information about where Anderson might be can contact the sheriff’s office at 301-780-8600.
