1 dead after I-70 crash, some lanes reopened

One person is dead after an accident on I-70 in Howard County Wednesday morning.

Two vehicles were involved in a crash around 9:20 a.m., according to a Maryland Department of Transportation website .

The accident took place in the lanes for eastbound traffic near Maryland Route 32.

Maryland State Police confirm at least one person was killed in the crash.

Immediately after the crash the highway was closed to traffic in both directions, but all westbound lanes and one eastbound lane had been reopened as of 10:30 a.m., police said.
