Baltimore County police arrest man suspected of trying to rape 98-year-old woman

The man suspected of trying to rape a 98-year-old woman inside her Rodger Forge home was arrested Wednesday.

Paul Earnest Howard Jr., 50, was arrested Wednesday on charges of attempted rape, sex offense, assault and theft, Baltimore County police confirmed.

Investigators believe Howard attacked the 98-year-old woman in her home in the 200 block of Gaywood Road.

The charges stem from an April 26 incident.

The victim told police a man came to her door offering home improvement services and she sent him away, but he returned that evening.

She told police the man, later identified as Howard, allegedly knocked her to the ground and tried to rape her, according to police.
