Beloved actor Robin Williams was found dead inside his California home today, possibly the victim of suicide, according to reports.
Marin County Sheriff's Office investigators said it's believed the Oscar-winning actor's passing was the result of "a suicide due to asphyxia," according to a release about the preliminary cause of death.
The department received an emergency call at about 11:55 a.m. Monday, reporting Williams "had been located unconscious and not breathing inside his residence in unincorporated Tiburon," according to the release.
Investigators indicate Williams was last seen alive with his wife on Sunday at approximately 10 p.m. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
Williams was recently filming the upcoming movie "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb," according to the Internet Movie Database. He leaves behind three children.
