Baltimore police Friday ruled a 2-year-old girl’s death a homicide, after originally reporting that the girl died from an injury suffered on a playground.
Police made no mention in the release of a possible suspect.
On May 5, a woman flagged down a Baltimore police officer to help her daughter, 2-year-old London Claybourne.
The mother told police that she hurt herself while playing at a playground near the 2900 block of Denham Circle South. Claybourne “appeared ill,” according to the release. She was en route to the hospital when the mother flagged down police.
Doctors were unable to save the 2-year-old. She was prounced dead at 7:35 p.m.
Detectives began investigating the “questionable death,” according to the release. On July 17, police ruled the death a homicide. Investigators believe she died from blunt force trauma.
