1 dead, 1 injured after shooting inside Baltimore carry-out restaurant

BALTIMORE - One person is dead and a second injured after someone opened fire inside a Baltimore business.

Shortly after midnight Wednesday morning, Baltimore Police were called to a business in the 4900 block of Reisterstown Road to investigate a double shooting.

When police arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

One of the victims was pronounced dead while the second was rushed into surgery, police said.

The surviving victim was listed in stable condition late Thursday morning, according to police.

Investigators learned the two victims were inside the business, described by police as an “ethnic carry-out,” when an unidentified man walked opened the door, pulled a gun, and started firing at the two victims. The shooter ran away.

Baltimore homicide detectives are investigating the deadly shooting and anyone with information can contact them at 410-396-2100.

Several hours earlier, around 10:13 p.m., a man was shot in the arm and stomach as he sat in a vehicle in the 4400 block of Reisterstown Road. The victim told police he saw two men walk up to him before he was shot.

Neighbors tell ABC2 they believe the shootings are connected. Police are investigating whether or not the shootings are related.
