Amazon launches Prime Music

Internet giant Amazon has dipped its toes further into the music streaming industry, adding Prime Music to existing Amazon Prime memberships.

What is Prime Music?

More than a million songs and hundreds of pre-programmed ad-free playlists now available free to Amazon Prime subscribers on phone, tablet or computer.

Though the service is free for Amazon Prime members, being an Amazon Prime member runs $99 a year, with student membership prices set at $49 a year.

The music includes albums from top artists including Daft Punk, John Mayer, Celine Dion, The Lumineers and Madonna.

For Prime subscribers, this is a welcome addition to Prime’s existing benefits: free two-day shipping and streaming video.
