Here are some fun-filled facts to get you ready for our quiz on previous Academy Award winners. The awards show, also known as the Oscars, takes place on Sunday, March 2, 2014.
Judi Dench won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 1998’s “Shakespeare in Love.” In that role, she received less than eight minutes of screen time — making it the shortest performance ever to win an Oscar.
Jonah Hill has been nominated for two Oscars — in 2012 and 2014, both for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role. This year’s nomination puts him in front of Indiana Jones and Han Solo himself — Harrison Ford, who has just one nomination for Best Actor in “Witness” (1984).
You don’t win, you just rent: Award winners are not allowed to sell or dispose of their Oscar statuette without first offering to sell it back to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences — for $1. The rule also applies to anyone that received a statuette by gift or bequest.
