A 8-month-old baby boy was attacked and killed by a family dog Thursday afternoon in Calvert County.
Deputies responded to Prancer Court in Lusby for a reported dog attack just after 1 p.m today.
When deputies arrived to the scene, they found the dog attacking the child inside the home.
The Sheriff's office shot the dog in order to stop the attack and the baby died as a result from his injuries.
In the initial investigation, deputies discovered a family friend was watching the baby when the attack occurred.

A press conference is schedule at the Calvert Sheriff's Office Friday.
