77-year-old stabs man in Taneytown dispute

TANEYTOWN, Md. - A 77-year-old man stabbed a man in the stomach after a dispute Sunday afternoon in Taneytown.

Around 3:30 p.m., police responded to the 3700 block of Kump Station Rd. for a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived they found a 50-year-old man who had been cut in the abdomen with a box cutter. The man was taken to Shock Trauma with non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation found that the older man was upset because the victim was throwing things out of his garage.

The suspect, identified as George Hobbs, was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault, according to online courts records.
