After weeks of collecting toys, Tuesday night officers from departments across the state loaded their trunks with boxes. Ready to spread holiday cheer with children who need it most.
"We got some toys were gonna get them out to the kids in need," said one officer.
"It's an honor for us to be out here today,” another officer said. “Being a part of this great mission."
This is the 17th year for the ABC2 It's Kindertime Toy Drive. First responders are stepping in as Santa's helpers, and behind it all is ABC 2 News' own Pete O'Neal.
"We give to the agencies, the social services, the churches who have already identified the need," he said.

Stop two of the night was at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Boxes and boxes and boxes of toys were carried in, and they all ended up underneath a Christmas tree. The whole goal is to make people smile, and bring hope and joy to kids in our area.
Three-year-old Cooper Barker is in the middle of an 8-week stay at Kennedy Krieger with his parents Ashlynn and Pat.
"I'm blown away at the generosity of Baltimore’s Police Department the community, they've it's been wonderful," Ashlynn said.
The entire family will spend Christmas here in Charm City, and things like this toy delivery help to make the season a little more special.
"It really makes our visit here a lot easier during the holidays, since we don't have family here."
Besides the stops Tuesday night, toys were donated to about 15 other organizations. In all, more than 85,000 gifts were handed out this holiday by the toy drive.
