More record-setting growth at BWI Airport

Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport showed passenger traffic growth for the 12th straight month in June when a total of 2,347,077 passengers flew through the airport .

June's traffic showed an increase of 7.6 percent over May's numbers, setting a new June record. The number of international passengers also grew, increasing by 15 percent.

Over the past year, passenger traffic rose 8.4 percent up to 24.7 million - a new fiscal year record.

Airlines are benefiting from the traffic growth as well, with Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, Air Canada, British Airways, Condor and WOW air all seeing passenger increases.

“With new airline service and low airfares, our passenger traffic continues to reach new heights,” said Ricky Smith, Chief Executive Officer for BWI Marshall. “We are committed to a high level of customer service to meet the needs of travelers throughout the Washington-Baltimore region.”
