The usually busy and bustling terminals at BWI were deserted Tuesday. Kiosks and check-in counters completely empty thanks to Mother Nature.
"Ah yeah, it's crazy," said Audrey Abadilla from California. "I've never seen an airport so empty before."
According to flightaware.com there were about 500 cancelations at BWI on Tuesday.

There were also thousands of flights up and down the Northeast delayed or called off, sending travelers scrambling for plan-B.
"We were supposed to fly back home to Florida but then the snow storm came and they cancelled our flight," Floridian Addison Hilyard said.
That meant he and his mom, Kallie, were stuck for an extra day.
But it wasn't all bad. The 21-year-old got his first taste of playing in the white stuff.
"Never, it's never snowed where we live, so it was pretty cool," said Hilyard. "We built a snowman, and we tried to go sledding but the snow was too think, so it kinda didn't work."
Over at Penn Station, scrapped and modified train routes were back up and running Wednesday. Many passengers finally making it to their destinations a day late.
"I was supposed to pick my friends up at the Mega Bus stop in White Marsh, but Mega Bus sent them an email saying they would not operate on Tuesday," said Marilyn Maze.
So Wednesday she waited for their Amtrak train instead.
Besides the bus, Her neighbors Ralph and Barbara Bohlin had their flight from South Africa to New York City cancelled.
"We had the whole day to do activities in the tropics on Tuesday instead of flying on the airplane and coming in to the snow storm," Ralph said.
A happy accident. And at least their train was on time.
"We're anxious to get home," said Barbara. "We're on our way."
