A new ice cream flavor uses one of Michael Phelps' favorite foods as inspiration. When he's not winning gold medals Phelps needs to carbo load and one of his favorite places to do that is Pete's Grille. It is well-known that he loves the chocolate chip pancakes there and that is the inspiration for The Charmery's newest flavor: Phelps Phlapjack Gold.

The Charmery is using the pancakes from Pete's Grille to make this limited edition flavor in the Olympians honor. The pancakes will be toasted and infused with maple syrup then a marshmallow swirl with edible gold flakes and golden sprinkles will be spun throughout.

“Michael Phelps has been making our hearts soar as high as a bald eagle,” says David Alima, Owner and Master Creamer of The Charmery, in a statement.

“Watching someone work so hard and be so successful at their craft is inspiring to anyone who is reaching for the stars. The fact he is from Baltimore gives us all a huge boost. Plus, we are so honored to partner with Pete’s Grille who has been making gold medal worthy breakfasts and lunches for so long.”

The unique flavor will be scooped at The Charmery on Friday, August 19 and will be available until it runs out.

Phelps is the most decorated Olympian of all time. He has 23 gold medals and 28 medals total. He has competed in 5 Olympic games.
