On July 23, Humane Society shelters all over the nation will hold their annual Clear the Shelters adoption drive. Last year, nearly 20,00 pets were adopted into their forever homes.

The Humane Society of Harford County is participating in the drive. On Saturday, all pet adoption fees will be waived.

"We have a huge selection of animals to choose from," said Cat Kelly, shelter operations director at HSHC. "Not only do we have cats and dogs, but we also have rabbits, guinea pigs and even mice up for adoption."

HSHC will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 23.

Several vaccinations, a free sample of food, a microchip and a general exam all come with adopted animals from the shelter.

Check out the photos and biographies of the animals ahead of time so you know what you're looking for. Don't forget to download an adoption application as well.
