There’s still time to turn on the holiday spirit at Christmas tree lighting ceremonies Friday in Maryland.

Revelers are expected to head to downtown Towson for Baltimore County’s annual tree lighting ceremony at Olympian Park. The Christmas tree at the corner of Allegheny Avenue and the traffic circle will be lit at 6 p.m.

After that, kids can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, grab some free hot chocolate and hear a live performance by the George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology Chamber Choir.

Allegheny Avenue, from Washington Avenue to the traffic circle, will be closed to motorists starting at 4:30 p.m.

City locals can viewing lightings in southeast and southwest Baltimore. The Highlandtown Holiday Kick-Off celebration begins at 5 p.m. with a tree lighting scheduled at 6 p.m. The event takes place at 3601 Eastern Avenue.

In Pigtown, residents can watch the Main Street Tree Lighting at 6 p.m. at the corner of Barre Street and Washington Boulevard.
