A warmer than usual New Year's Eve is expected to drive over 50,000 revelers to the Inner Harbor for the City of Baltimore's annual celebration.

Carol Hutchinson, and her 3 kids, watched from a hotel room last year because it was too cold.

"This year, I don't know. I think it could be pretty packed. It's pretty warm out there," she said.

Starting at 9 PM, the band 'Head's Up' will take the stage in the Inner Harbor Amphitheater before 6,500 fireworks will be shot off at midnight.

Thursday afternoon, city police could be seen stationed on top of Federal Hill. The department is planning extra patrols in all 9 districts tonight.

ABC 2 News also spoke to the F.B.I., which said there are no credible terror threats for Maryland.

Several roads surrounding the Inner Harbor will be closed at 11 PM. Single lane closures will begin at 7 PM.

City organizers say attendees should come up with a parking plan before heading downtown.

"A lot of people think you can find street parking. That might not be the case," said Tracy Baskerville, Communications Director for the Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts. "Be prepared to pay to park, if you have to park in a garage."
